How we give back

We try find as many initiatives as we can in order to give back. In recent years we have helped schoolchildren with school shoes, children's centres with seeds and gardening implements and donating personal computers.
Our focus areas

Here are some of the areas we have focused our corporate responsibility efforts on.

School shoes
  • 45 pairs of school shoes to all the children at Khawa pre-school
  • Two of our Executives and our Senior Client Service Consultant travelled more than 600km to hand over 265 pairs of shoes for all the children attending Khawa Primary School
School shoesLa Modimo
  • Responding to the increase in abandoned and neglected children in the town Sese La Modimo centre was established
  • One of the challenges La Modimo faces is providing fruit and vegetables in the diets of the children in their care
  • The objective of the Centre is to provide shelter and staple food to the children. To this end Old Mutual Botswana on a quarterly basis assists the La Modimo Charity Orphanage through groceries to help provide a balanced diet for the kids

  • Old Mutual is always looking for opportunities to enrich the lives of the community in which we operate
  • When it came time for us to upgrade our computers we looked for a school to whom we could donate our older computers
  • St Joseph’s Primary School, which is situated just outside Gaborone in a location called Kgale, was the recipient
